After more than 25 years on the touchline as a coach, the day finally came to hang up the boots. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d miss the buzz — the roar of Saturday afternoon club rugby and the energy of midweek school fixtures. So I picked up a camera… and everything clicked.

 

The more I photographed, the more instinctive it became. As the technical side faded into muscle memory, I found myself doing what years of coaching had trained me to do best: reading the moment, anticipating the action, and focusing on people under pressure. That’s where the real story lives.

 

Since then, my work has grown beyond rugby into a wide range of sports and the performing arts. From fast-paced competition to the drama of live performance, I love the challenge of new environments and the unpredictability that comes with them. Every event is different — and that’s exactly what keeps it exciting.
